With Deepika Padukone walking out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial Spirit starring Prabhas, there have been many speculations doing the rounds about the reason for her sudden exit. While some cited uneven work hours, others blamed Deepika`s fee demands, and many claimed that the actress is difficult to work with. A new report suggests that Sandeep Reddy Vanga intends to make Spirit an A-rated film, which could be one of the reasons behind Deepika`s decision to step away.
Pinkvilla, in a recent development, shared that Deepika Padukone let go of Spirit because of the A-rated scenes in the film. The portal quoted a source saying, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga wanted to cast an actress who would be comfortable with sequences written on paper. He has promised a comfortable and professional atmosphere on the sets amidst the shoot to Triptii.”
“While the storytelling of Spirit is that of a quintessential Telugu entertainer with all the hero moments, the filmmaker is bringing a twist to the genre by spinning in an ‘A-Rated’ twist. Apart from the use of ample blood in the action scenes, Spirit will also boast a lot of bold sequences featuring the two leads,” the source further revealed. The sequences were present in the script when narrated to Deepika Padukone, but she and the director had mutually agreed to tone down scenes that felt too extreme.
Triptii Dimri joins Spirit
On Saturday, Triptii Dimri took to social media to announce her involvement in the film. She shared a picture of the title poster featuring her name in multiple Indian and international languages. Sharing the news, she wrote, “Still sinking in…. 😍 So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga… Honoured to be a part of your vision.”
This marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Prabhas and Triptii — a fresh and intriguing pairing that is expected to spark strong interest across audiences and the industry alike. The film also marks Triptii’s second collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, producer Bhushan Kumar, and Pranay Reddy Vanga, following their acclaimed and successful film Animal.
