Batting stalwart Rohit Sharma fulfilled his light-hearted yet much-hyped promise of gifting his prized Lamborghini Urus to a fantasy cricket contest winner on Monday. What began as a humorous commercial campaign culminated in a real-life giveaway, as seen in a video that has now gone viral.
Rohit, who has often been spotted navigating the streets of Mumbai in the luxury SUV, delivered on a humorous promise made earlier this IPL season.

The Lamborghini, bearing the registration number ‘264’, is a heartfelt nod to Rohit’s monumental 264-run knock in ODIs, still the highest individual score in one-day cricket history. Valued at approximately Rs 4 crore in the Indian market, the Urus has long been a favourite among fans.
The promise to give away the car was first made in a light-hearted promotional campaign at the onset of IPL 2025. The ad featured Rohit dramatically announcing the giveaway, followed by a comical scene of him watching a fan drive away in his prized possession, forcing the Indian captain to return home in an auto-rickshaw. Initially, fans speculated whether the giveaway involved the exact car or a brand-new model. However, the recent footage confirmed it was indeed the very same Lamborghini from the advertisement.
While the giveaway has captured the imagination of fans online, Rohit’s team, Mumbai Indians, has also made headlines with an impressive turnaround in form during IPL 2025. After a sluggish start to their campaign, Mumbai have found their rhythm and now appear to be among the strongest contenders. With 14 points from 12 matches, MI need to secure victories in both of their remaining league games to guarantee a direct entry into the playoffs.
The playoff race has reached a fever pitch, with Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants vying for the final spot in the top four. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have already booked their place in the knockout stage.
