Royal Challengers Bengaluru`s dynamic all-rounder Tim David brought cheer to an otherwise gloomy training session by turning the Bengaluru rain into his own personal playground, ahead of IPL 2025’s much-anticipated resumption on Saturday.
Amid persistent showers, David embraced the downpour in style, donning swimming shorts and making his way onto the rain-soaked field. With the ground covers laid out and puddles forming, the Australian star gleefully slid across the surface, turning a weather delay into an impromptu water sport session. His antics drew laughter and applause from RCB support staff as he humorously `swam` across the drenched outfield before heading back to the dressing room, soaked but clearly in high spirits.

The IPL 2025, which was temporarily suspended due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a border incident, is now set to resume after both nations reached a ceasefire agreement. The BCCI promptly announced the league`s restart, with RCB hosting the Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 17.
RCB enter the final stretch of the tournament with momentum firmly on their side. With eight wins from 11 matches, they sit second on the points table with 16 points, and a victory against KKR would all but seal their place in the playoffs. Their form before the pause was red-hot, including a four-match winning streak that has injected confidence into the squad.
In contrast, defending champions KKR are facing an uphill battle. With just five wins in 12 games, KKR are sixth on the table with 11 points. A defeat in Bengaluru could eliminate them from playoff contention altogether, leaving their title defence in tatters.
The unplanned 10-day break, however, poses a unique challenge for both sides. While RCB will look to reignite their winning rhythm, KKR must urgently rediscover form and intensity to stay alive in the competition. Both teams face the critical task of regaining their pre-break sharpness and handling match pressure immediately upon resumption.
RCB will bank on the consistency of their batting unit and their in-form bowlers to maintain their stronghold at home. KKR, on the other hand, need a collective resurgence if they are to overcome the odds in hostile territory.
